Job Description
The Office of Congressman George Whitesides (CA-27) is hiring a full-time Press Intern to work in his Washington, D.C. office for the summer semester. The Press Intern will work directly with the Communications team and be part of day-to-day communications operations.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Compiling daily news clips
Assist with drafting social media posts and filming video content
Drafting press releases, newsletters, and other written materials
Maintaining press lists
Assist with creating content for the website
The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. On occasion, the Press Intern will fill in for other full-time interns by answering phones and directing constituent messages, but their primary responsibility will be to the Communications team.
