Duties
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic messaging for NASA's Earth science communications and public engagement materials and activities, ensuring consistency with broader NASA and Science Mission Directorate messages.
- Integrate administration and legislative priorities into NASA's Earth science communications and public engagement materials and activities.
- Align and coordinate NASA's Earth science communications and public engagement materials and activities with our interagency and international partners.
- Set budgetary priorities and manage implementation of NASA's broad portfolio of Earth science communications and public engagement initiatives.
- Directly supervise civil servant and contractor staff and provide strategic direction to NASA's broader community of Earth science communications and public engagement professionals.

Qualifications
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
- Planning, developing, coordinating, and/or implementing materials, events or activities that reach intended audiences in support of Earth science communication or public engagement programs and goals, and that enhance/improve Earth science communication or public engagement initiatives;
- Developing Earth science communication or public engagement materials and/or activities, and estimating budget requirements, identifying resources, and sharing information before and after engagement activities to enhance future initiatives;
- Identifying strategic goals and/or objectives for Earth science communication or public engagement efforts to support broader organizational goals.
