Job Title: Systems and Research Coordinator
Reports to: Director, Operations and Strategy
Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
Terms: Commensurate with experience ($22-$27/hour)

LA Commons engages communities in the creation of art for public spaces that tells their unique stories and serves as the basis for dialogue, interaction and a better understanding of Los Angeles. Through collaboration with local partners who have built deep wells of trust, we leverage art and cultural approaches to create positive change.
Since 2002, we have worked with over 1,000 artists, trained and mentored over 3,000 youth artists, and engaged over 35,000 community members in collaboration with scores of partners in neighborhoods across Los Angeles County. Overview
Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Operations, this role is part of the team of this mission-driven, fiscally sponsored non-profit arts and culture organization. The Systems and Research Coordinator will provide support that facilitates the operations and strategy of the program, communications, development and financial activities of the organization.
Responsible for:
Systems:
- Coordinate systems and process design, assessment, and improvement
- Support culture-building and professional development activities
- Coordinate the maintenance and integration of the Monkeypod CRM, including identifying and developing opportunities to make data more accessible to LA Commons
- Coordinate Intern outreach, onboarding and offboarding.
- Support the search and hiring process including development and posting of job opportunities
- Serve as a back up support for Operations process including the creation of agreements, contracts and invoices, weekly accounts payable, invoices and payment processing, including collecting and maintaining documentation
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Research:
- Collaborating with the senior leadership team, programming, marketing and development teams to interpret meaningful data and draw out insights that can inform strategic and programmatic decision making.
- Collaborating with program teams to develop survey instruments and other learning, evaluation and data collection tools that address LA Commons needs and goals
- Support team learning and evaluation
- Perform research for new initiatives and support implementation of new systems
- Support the strategic planning process and implementation of the current strategic plan
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data including mapping and other forms of data visualization
- Identify and develop other opportunities to improve our processes for collecting, managing, and interpreting data and applying it to strategic and programmatic decision-making.
Skills and qualifications
- Organized, detail oriented and reliable
- Demonstrated interest in nonprofit operations
- Experience processing financial transactions and generating financial reports
- Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Sheets (Certify, Accufund a plus!)
- Proficiency with database, CRM and project management systems (Salesforce a plus!)
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Strong organizational skills and time management ability; deadline and detail oriented; capacity to prioritize competing responsibilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to be proactive and suggest improvements
