Job Description
Senator Cornyn is looking for a Texas Press Secretary or Deputy Press Secretary to join his large, fast-paced communications team. The position is based in his Austin office, and the ideal candidate will have several years of previous communications experience, including on-the-record experience and existing relationships with Texas media. Job duties include handling Texas-related press releases and advisories, facilitating state press conferences and events, drafting speeches and responses to reporter inquiries, and serving as the Senator’s spokesperson with Texas press. Candidates must be strong team players and have the ability to travel around the state with Senator Cornyn. Spanish-speakers are a plus, but not required. This is not an entry-level position.
