Vice President, Polling & Research

Role Location: This role is based in our Brooklyn, NY office on a hybrid basis. The full team is in-office

at least 2 days per week.

Position Type: Full-Time

Slingshot's polling practice conducts qualitative and quantitative research projects for campaigns,

nonprofits, companies, and organizations. Our work spans electoral polling, message and issue testing,

consumer research, and policy initiatives. We combine cutting-edge methodologies and extensive

experience with a practitioner-first approach to produce research deliverables that are purpose-built for

internal decision making, resource allocation, campaign design, as well as external press and media

uses. Slingshot conducts and releases polling under its own name as well as powering the research for

separately branded public polling initiatives.


The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Vice President to serve as a key leader within our growing polling

and research practice.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is highly organized and detail-oriented. This role offers the

opportunity to independently lead client-accounts and support the growth of the practice. You must thrive

in a fast-moving and rapidly changing political environment, be able to run a fielding process from start

to finish, produce and oversee the production of client-ready deliverables, and take ownership of a wide

range of responsibilities in service of client success. The ideal candidate will have eight (8) plus years of

research and polling experience at an agency.


Key Responsibilities:

Independently manage client accounts with full ownership over client satisfaction, strategic counsel,

deliverable quality, budgets, timelines, and team performance

Lead the design and execution of large-scale qualitative and quantitative research projects, ensuring

methodological rigor, analytical integrity, and strategic relevance

Oversee multiple concurrent projects and client workstreams, proactively identifying risks, resolving

challenges, and ensuring alignment with client objectives

Partner with senior staff on account planning, client growth strategies, and broader business

development initiatives

Manage, mentor, and develop junior staff (directors, strategists, and interns) including performance

management, coaching, and professional development

Represent the firm in external meetings, presentations, and industry settings to strengthen client

relationships and enhance the firm’s reputation

Contribute to and originate new business opportunities by cultivating client relationships, identifying

growth areas, and supporting pitch and proposal development


Qualifications:

8-10 years of agency experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including

project design, execution, analysis, and strategic application of findings

Exceptional client management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to serve as a senior

strategic advisor

Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience overseeing multiple

high-priority projects simultaneously

Experience contributing to business development efforts, including pitching, proposal development,

and identifying opportunities for account growth

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing proposals,

presentations, and client-facing deliverables

Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to

detail

Proven people management experience, including supervising, mentoring, and developing junior

and mid-level staff

Compensation & Benefits:

The base salary for this position is between $123,000 to $145,000 commensurate with experience plus

eligibility for a discretionary bonus at the end of each year. Slingshot Strategies offers a comprehensive

benefits package that includes a hybrid work model, excellent coverage for medical, vision, and dental
