DPEP is seeking a Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, Consumer Products, Games and Publishing (CPGP) who will report directly to the Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, Disney Signature Experiences and Consumer Products. The principal responsibilities this position are to drive the CPGP business through integrated PR campaigns, while advancing its reputation by leading the strategic development and execution of internal and external communication campaigns, content development, stakeholder engagement, issues management and corporate citizenship. This role will strategically lead the functions of PR and franchise communications, media relations, internal and executive communications, and public affairs for all businesses globally (North America, EMEA and APAC), including licensing, retail/eCommerce, games and publishing.

The Vice President will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders of the CPGP organization and will have an important role in influencing decisions and larger business strategies. The VP will collaborate and build relationships with partners, press and executives, managing all facets of communications to keep global audiences informed in a dynamic environment where change is a constant.

This role will be responsible for the development of the comprehensive communications and public affairs strategy for CPGP and the delivery of a variety of projects with a strong focus on proactive PR and reputational communications campaigns, segment-wide partnerships, and marketplace intelligence. The VP will also work with the Executive Communications teams to execute plans and support the creation of written materials for internal and external use.

The ideal candidate will have experience in PR, public affairs, media relations, issues management and internal and executive communications, along with exceptional writing skills. The candidate should also have the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into compelling, actionable insights, and have an understanding of the media landscape.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Communications expert with a minimum of 10 - 15 years of relative communications experience
  • Strong media/press relations experience
  • Must have experience leading and developing a team
  • Strong understanding of TWDC, with experience working with International teams
  • Experience building overall brand visibility and managing corporate reputations through high-impact media relations programs
  • Ability to influence people/lead in a matrixed organization and build strong internal/external relationships
  • High level of corporate professionalism, maturity and political savvy
  • Ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and act decisively
  • Demonstrated track record in leading a communications function and working directly with senior executive teams
  • Demonstrated proficiency in communications with media as company spokesperson
  • Disciplined organizational skills in all aspects of job performance with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects and execute quickly while maintaining set list of priorities and focus
