The Office of U.S. Senator John Fetterman is hiring a Western PA Regional Director to lead the Pittsburgh and Erie offices in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.


The Western PA Director will report to the State Director and serve as a member of the state outreach team. This position is full time and based in Pittsburgh, PA.


The Western PA Director will be responsible for directing strategic outreach, managing the Regional Representatives within the Western Region of Pennsylvania and serving as a liaison between the Office of U.S. Senator John Fetterman and stakeholders in Allegheny County.


Specific responsibilities:

  • Direct the Western PA regional team including supervision, managing assignments, and workflow of three outreach team members and other key staff within the Erie and Pittsburgh offices.
  • Assist with strategic planning and staffing of the Senators state work period appearances and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships on behalf of the Senator with local elected officials, government agencies, key stakeholders, community organizations, major institutions and constituents within the Western region of Pennsylvania.
  • Work within the region to represent the Senator at events, remain current on issues impacting constituents, identify federal funding opportunities and bring back relevant regional information to pertinent staff and the Senator.

Ideal candidates have:

  • In-depth knowledge of Western Pennsylvania and the challenges facing constituents.
  • Existing relationships with elected officials, stakeholders and constituents across the region.
  • Five or more years of experience working in a government office, quasi-governmental agency, nonprofit, or equivalent work environment.
  • Three or more years of experience managing, leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Excel at building new relationships, communicating clearly, staying organized and managing fine details.
  • Managed multiple tasks successfully in a high pace workplace.
  • Exercise discretion and strategic thinking.
