About the Role:

Bob Casey for Senate is seeking a Social Media Manager to join our growing Digital Content program. This role will report to our Deputy Digital Director for Content and work with them to curate content, grow followings, and boost engagement for the campaign and partner social media platforms.

An ideal candidate for this role is interested in seeking out and shaping online trends in an always-changing news cycle, comes to the role with or is interested in learning a deep knowledge of Pennsylvania and Senator Bob Casey, and is committed to working with our team to craft and build a program that is authentic to the Senator while boosting engagement in what will be one of the top Senate races in the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Deputy Digital Director for Content to develop and manage our social media program, including calendaring, drafting, posting, and creating brand-specific content across multiple platforms.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to drive campaign messaging and engagement with our accounts.
  • Draft engaging copy that highlights Senator Casey's personality.
  • Design impactful and creative graphics for social media.
  • Manage the social media approval process.
  • Monitor the media environment for rapid response moments; stay current on social trends, what's happening in Pennsylvania, and election messaging.
  • Brainstorm and pitch new and creative content ideas that drive a Pennsylvania-oriented program.
  • Regularly analyze our social media metrics, reporting on what's working and making strategic recommendations on where we can improve.

Qualifications:

  • 0-1+ cycles prior working experience (including internships) contributing to the social media program of a political campaign, organization, or non-profit;
  • Prior working experience writing, editing, and proofing social media copy that drives action and maintains a consistent voice;
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and/or Canva preferred;
  • Follows internet culture and has experience developing/managing content;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Attention to detail and enthusiasm for data-driven processes;
  • Dedication to being a team player and trying new things.
  • Access to cell phone and laptop

Logistics:

  • Level: Associate
  • Salary Band: $4500-$5000, commensurate with experience
  • Location: Philadelphia
  • Benefits: Medical, dental vision plan at no premium upon meeting plan eligibility requirements
  • Leave: Paid time off will be available per Campaign policy.
  • Hours: Full-time position. This position's schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle, and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
