Congresswoman April McClain Delaney (MD-06) is seeking a Digital Director to join her Washington, DC office.


The Digital Director will be primarily responsible for content creation for the Congresswoman’s social media and digital engagement platforms, increasing engagement across all platforms, and maintaining the Congresswoman’s website. Additionally, this candidate will assist the Communications Director with media duties, such as pitching stories to press, drafting press releases, speeches and talking points, and helping develop overall messaging strategy.


The ideal candidate will have strong writing, organizational, and digital skills, including video editing and graphic design. Access to a car and the ability to drive to the District in Maryland for content creation with the Congresswoman is a plus. This person will serve under and report to the Communications Director based in Washington, D.C.


Responsibilities:

  • Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to develop and implement messaging strategies;
  • Contribute to an active frontline communications operation;
  • Run all social/digital media communications;
  • Assist in drafting press releases, scripts, talking points, newsletters, and other written materials;
  • Develop and maintain official website;
  • Work with the district office to publicize constituent service wins and events;
  • Create digital content, including video, graphics, and other creative materials for social media and more;
  • Capture content at public-facing events; and,
  • Other tasks as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills
  • Experience with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, Canva, or similar tools)
  • Ability to create engaging graphics, visuals, and videos
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Capitol Hill/campaign experience preferred
  • Access to a car is highly preferred to help staff district days as needed
