US Senator Jeff Merkley is seeking an Outreach Director to coordinate the Senator’s outreach efforts in Oregon. The Outreach Director leads a team of field representatives across the state who serve as the Senator’s primary interface with constituents throughout Oregon. The Outreach Director also helps set stateside and organizational priorities and policies as a member of the senior staff and the state management team. This is a senior position with substantial management and strategic planning responsibilities in a highly collaborative setting. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated track record of planning and leading collaborative, complex work in fluid environments, and possess excellent follow-through and attention to detail. Experience working in or around Oregon politics or government is required; supervisory experience is strongly preferred. The Outreach Director position is located in Portland, Oregon. This is an exempt position and requires some work to be performed outside of the traditional work week and frequent travel within the state.
