Summary

The mission of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is to provide force protection, security, and law enforcement to safeguard personnel, facilities, infrastructure, and other resources for the Pentagon Reservation and designated DoD facilities (hereinafter referred to as "the Pentagon Facilities") within the National Capital Region (NCR).

Responsibilities

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

Serves as a Senior Insider Threat Specialist and is responsible for developing and managing the program for PFPA as well as for activities outside of PFPA.

Ensures the agency is in compliance with the requirements of the Executive Order (E.O.) 13587 and the Presidential Memorandum, "National Insider Threat Policy and Minimum Standards for Executive Branch Insider Threat Programs" to prevent, deter, detect, and mitigate actions by malicious insiders who represent a threat to national security or DoD personnel, facilities, operations, and resources.

Responsible for gathering, integrating, reviewing, assessing, and responding to information derived from counterintelligence (CI), security, cyber security, civilian and military personnel management, workplace violence, law enforcement, DoD information networks, and other sources as necessary and appropriate to identify, mitigate, and counter insider threats.

Establishes program guidelines and requirements to ensure Insider Threat personnel follow procedural guidance to identify and address insider threats throughout PFPA and Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) and potentially additional other DoD activities at the earliest opportunity.

Conducts insider threat analysis, identifies intelligence gaps and recommends countermeasures to prevent, deter, detect, and mitigate actions by malicious insiders who represent a threat to national security or DoD personnel, facilities, operations, and resources.
