Recognizing the ability to better serve our clients, the firm established a public affairs and strategic communications practice in April 2017 to integrate with the existing government relations and regulatory strategy services. Our public affairs team is dedicated to helping our clients effectively tell their story. We specialize in developing and implementing public affairs strategies that complement government affairs initiatives and amplify communications efforts with local audiences; garner national media attention; advance an organization’s public policy goals; train leaders for press engagement; and organize and execute public events. We provide bespoke counsel, develop and implement thoughtful communications strategies, advise on messaging and reputation management, overcome crises, and assist in building long-term engagement plans.
POSITION OVERVIEW
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Cornerstone seeks a full-time, team-oriented individual to join our Operations team and assist in the firm’s business development (BD) and marketing efforts, focused on our Public Affairs (PA) business unit.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting the firm’s Senior Operations Manager (PA) on various BD and marketing initiatives related to our PA business unit, including but not limited to:
- Scheduling of internal and external meetings related to BD activities;
- Creating and updating marketing collateral, such as capability documents, proposals, pitch decks, and bio placemats;
- Coordinating with the larger marketing team on multi-business unit opportunities, including scheduling internal meetings and coordinating with the PA team on the pitch team and proposal development;
- Assisting the Senior Operations Manager on tracking and recording all BD opportunities into Salesforce;
- Assisting the PA team with any graphic design requests, such as advertisements or event flyers;
- Conducting marketing research and drafting memos;
- Assisting in the firm’s BD conflict check process; and,
- Assisting with day-to-day marketing tasks, as assigned.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate for this position has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of relevant work experience, and a strong interest in marketing and communications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required and experience with Canva, Mailchimp, and Adobe Photoshop is preferred.
BENEFITS
Base salary for this position shall be based on experience and level of education and range from $65,000 to $70,000. Employees are eligible for annual performance-based bonuses as well as full coverage of medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance premiums. In addition, employees are eligible to receive a 401(k)-employer match and shares in the firm's employee stock ownership plan, upon entry into the plan. Employees are eligible for paid time off and additional fringe benefits to perform their job duties (parking, cell phone coverage, etc.).
