Overview

Exciting citywide mayoral campaign seeking a dynamic and experienced Field Director to lead grassroots organizing efforts in San Francisco. The Field Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive field strategy, managing field staff and volunteers, and ensuring our campaign message reaches every corner of the city. This is a critical role for a passionate leader who wants to make a significant impact in local politics.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in Developing and Execute Field Strategy: Work with Campaign Manager to develop a detailed plan for voter outreach, including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking, digital engagement, and house parties. Ensure the strategy is adaptable and scalable to meet campaign goals.

- Manage Field Team: Recruit, train, and oversee a team of field organizers and volunteers. Foster a culture of enthusiasm, inclusivity, and high performance.

- Voter Engagement: Lead efforts to engage voters directly, ensuring our message resonates and increases voter turnout. Coordinate with the communications team to align messaging across platforms and voter targets.

- Data Management: Utilize data-driven approaches to track progress and make informed decisions. Ensure accurate data collection in SmartVAN and provide regular reports and updates to the campaign team.

- Staffing Campaign Office: Keep office clean and stocked full of essentials. Organize and oversee volunteers to help manage office.

- Manage and track quantities of campaign materials.

- Community Outreach: Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and constituents. Represent the campaign at community events and forums as needed.

- Collaboration: Work closely with the campaign manager, communications team, and other departments to ensure a unified and effective campaign effort. - Staff candidate at events as needed.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, or related field. Relevant experience may substitute for education.

- Two cycles of field/organizing experience or comparable political or advocacy experience.

- Strong understanding of San Francisco's political landscape and demographics preferred.

- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the skill to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

- Proficient in NGP / VAN, MiniVAN, phone and text banking platforms, and Google Suite.

- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.

Details Location: San Francisco, CA

Employment Type: Full-time, temporary (through the end of the election cycle)
