Job Description:


Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies (CPS) is seeking applications for a full-time position in its growing strategic communications practice. The Account Executive role will be a self-starter, deadline-driven, creative thinker who’s interested in transforming complex issues into compelling narratives and campaigns. This position will work independently and collaboratively with our team to implement digital, social, and traditional communications strategies for a diverse client set that includes high-profile companies, universities, associations, and cultural organizations. Experience in a newsroom, on Capitol Hill, or on political campaigns is a plus. The ideal candidate will be based in Washington, D.C.


Qualifications:


·        Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, ideally in a related field.

·        Two to four years of experience in communications, journalism, or related field;

·        Strong research, writing, and analytical skills;

·        Exceptional organizational and project management skills; attention to detail; and ability to meet deadlines; and

·        Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Social Media Platforms, and content creation for social channels is required. Experience with Canva, WordPress, Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator is a plus.  


Responsibilities:


·        Work as an integral part of client teams to develop and execute strategic public affairs campaigns.

·        Learn and understand our clients and the complex public policy, litigation, and reputational issues impacting them.

·        Conduct research for and draft a wide range of client-facing and internal materials, including memos, fact sheets, blog posts, press releases, and more.

·        Edit and proofread materials with an eye for consistency and accuracy.

·        Monitor client and issue news coverage and compile summary reports.

·        Support media relations activities, including building reporter lists and drafting and executing media pitches.

·        Assist with digital communications efforts, including drafting social media content and engaging in community management.

·        Handle multiple projects with competing deadlines.

·        Contribute to the new business process, including research and assist with drafting proposals.

·        Support and collaborate with colleagues within Cozen O’Connor Public Strategies Group and demonstrate behavior consistent with company’s values.
