Job Description
SUMMARY: Communications Coordinators work in the National Rifle Association's Institute for Legislative Action and provide a variety of support services to lobbyists and management. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide timely and accurate communications to NRA members and supporters.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Report directly to NRA-ILA Grassroots Director of Member Services.
� Track and report on legislation that affects NRA membership.
� Develop and deploy a comprehensive communications strategy.
� Produce error-free campaign correspondence- to include post cards, emails, text messages, and other election related materials.
� Coordinate with fellow Grassroots staff to provide headquarters support for Field Activities.
� Produce error-free legislative alerts, member communications, and official correspondence.
� Coordinate with fellow ILA staff to implement grassroots strategies in assigned states- to include attending events and legislative hearings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
� Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
� Minimum of two-years of responsible work experience in related field.
� Working knowledge of the legislative process and political campaigns.
� Excellent writing ability. MUST PROVIDE WRITING SAMPLES.
� Comprehensive knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
ADDITIONAL INFORMAION:
� The NRA-ILA is specifically recruiting career minded candidates that not only demonstrate the requisite skills and knowledge to be effective communications coordinators, but also the desire and work ethic to advance to other roles in the Association.
� Communications Coordinators are REQUIRED to work some evenings and weekends, especially during active legislative sessions and campaign cycles.
� Some travel is required.
