National Council of Jewish Women New York (NCJW NY) seeks a part-time Development Assistant. This new, entry-level position will support all aspects of our fundraising operations. The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development and work closely with both the Associate Director of Development & Communications and the Executive Director. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in exploring nonprofit management, fundraising, and development. The Development Assistant will get hands-on experience working with nonprofit professionals in a friendly and supportive environment.
Specifically, the Development Assistant will:
- Support all aspects of individual donations, including:
- Assist in producing direct mail appeals, both print and electronic
- Enter gifts into our donor database
- Process acknowledgement letters, both print and electronic
- Filing and record keeping
- Assist with database management, special events coordination, scheduling and logistics for Board meetings and other important gatherings, and other projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Previous experience working in a professional office environment
Other desired skills and characteristics:
- Experience with web-based database software a plus
- Facility with social media platforms a plus
- Highly organized
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Reliable and responsible
- Ability to interact comfortably with a diverse range of people, from low-income clients in or community center to high-level donors
Consistent weekly schedule to be determined depending on the availability of our chosen candidate.
Work is largely on-site, but with some flexibility for remote work hours.
This part-time position is 10 hours/week, and has an hourly rate of $20.
