Job Description
- Contribute to research and analysis on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) policy and practice under the Regenerative Seascapes (ReSea) project. This may include background research, reviews of existing frameworks and materials, and drafting summary, technical and policy briefs.
- Contribute to activities across key workstreams, including through internal collaboration with project teams and partners, support for planning and implementation, and synthesis of emerging insights to inform delivery.
- Support working groups and policy engagement activities through research, consultation, and drafting of relevant materials.
- Coordination of project-related online and in-person meetings and workshops, including organisation, preparation activities, documentation of key outcomes, drafting outcome reports and stories and follow-up actions with team members and partners.
- Contribute to programme development efforts, including providing input to donor-facing fundraising materials and coordinating concept development, partnership building, and internal consultations.
- Engage with other IUCN teams and constituencies on research projects.
- Undertake any other relevant tasks as may be assigned and mutually agreed with the supervisor, in support of broader team priorities and evolving workstreams.
REQUIREMENTS
- Enrolled in a graduate programme on Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Environmental Studies, Climate Policy, or related fields;
- Strong research, analytical, writing and organizational skills;
- Familiarity with nature-based solutions, climate adaptation and related international and national policy;
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities;
- Experience with meeting and workshop organization;
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations;
- Ability to work independently and under pressure, and to set own work priorities as appropriate, and a capacity to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, online collaboration tools, knowledge management systems or platforms, and statistical software
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of IUCN official languages or regional languages an asset (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swahili);
- Authorisation to work in the USA (no visa sponsorship available for this position). SALARYThe gross annual salary for this position is between USD 18'000 and USD 18'000. While this is an indicative amount effective as of the current date, changes may occur as per IUCN's compensation practices without prior notice. The same applies to other organisations hosted by IUCN.
