Job Title: Senior Associate

About Jones Mandel: Jones Mandel is a leading Democratic research consulting firm specializing in opposition and self research for candidates and party committees. The Democratic Party’s top leaders turn to Jones Mandel when they need the highest quality strategic counsel derived from in-depth research investigations. Our client roster includes multiple presidential candidates, 12 governors, seven U.S. senators and over a dozen Members of the U.S. House.

Responsibilities: Senior associates will be expected to serve as senior-level researchers on projects for the firm’s clients. Specific responsibilities will include:

Producing research for self and opposition research books through the examination of primary and secondary records.

Making key connections between disparate information to identify themes and through-lines in a candidate’s record.

Writing narrative summaries outlining opponent vulnerabilities and advising clients on how an offensive research hit may be properly constructed.

Writing narrative summaries outlining self research vulnerabilities and advising clients on how they may be vulnerable to attack.

Participating as a key contributor on multiple client teams.

Conducting rapid response and fact checking on assigned races.

Qualifications: Senior associate is not an entry-level position. Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered:

1-2 years experience as a paid staffer conducting political research for a campaign, party committee, super PAC or similar organization.

Familiarity with and experience using Democratic research formatting

Demonstrated skill writing research bullets and producing research documents

Experience using Lexis Nexis
