Associate, Policy and Research
SCOPE OF ROLE
The Associate of Policy and Research will act as an active contributor to the team’s high-quality research projects. This position sits in the Policy & Research Team and reports to the Senior Manager, Policy and Research.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
LOCATION
Chicago, Washington D.C., or Fully Remote (U.S. Based)
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE
$70,000 - $75,000 (Annual)

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A commitment to the mission of Financial Health Network and a desire to positively impact the trajectory of a highly impactful, national nonprofit.
  • 2+ years of professional experience and demonstrated success in primary research (qualitative or quantitative).
  • Ability to manage multiple fast-moving research projects simultaneously; strong project and time management skills required.
  • Working knowledge of statistical concepts that impact the accuracy of data analysis (for example: significance testing, sampling methodologies, and using sample weights).
  • Familiarity with survey methodology and research design.
  • Ability to distill and communicate actionable insights from complex data analysis (qualitative or quantitative).
  • Demonstrated commitment to embedding Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion across all internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Good presentation skills; an ability to communicate with influence and motivate multiple audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to set priorities, problem-solve, and multi-task while paying attention to detail.
  • Experience in statistical analysis of quantitative data using Stata, Sawtooth or R, specifically with market research analytic approaches (conjoint, maxdiff, TURF), is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate as a team member on a range of quantitative and qualitative research projects.
  • Manage and complete assigned tasks from start to finish using project management tools and strong communications skills.
  • Support the development of proposals and budgets for grant-funded and consulting opportunities that are research-oriented.
  • Act as a strong team member, providing leadership, on-the-job training, deliverable reviews, and coaching and mentorship for other associates and interns.
