Description of Job
The Staff Assistant is the primary point of contact for callers
and visitors to the Governor’s Office. This position serves as a Front Desk Receptionist
for the Office, provides general administrative assistance, manages office supplies and
equipment needs, and provides support to staff as needed for other project work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrange correspondence with Colorado constituents through phone calls and emails
Maintain a database of constituent comments and requests using SalesForce
Overall upkeep of the Governor's Office, including ordering paper and office supplies, maintaining copier systems
Scheduling for the Director of Communications and Community Engagement
Work closely with the Director of Advance/Travelling Press Secretary to create budgets, reserve vehicles, and plan travel for the Communications and Community Engagement team for their support of the Governor’s travel
Assist the Governor's Legislative Liaison with policy issues, briefings and research.
Scheduling and maintaining the Governor's conference room
Assist with Correspondence (draft proclamations, congratulatory letters, and letters of recognition)
Arranging correspondence between different Colorado State Department's
Advocate services in order to make sure that the state is doing everything it can to help its constituents
Scheduling the first floor spaces of the Colorado State Capitol for press conferences and events
Working on various projects as they come to the front desk, assisting various staff members in different offices within the Governor's Office (writing briefs, doing research, etc.)
Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Director of Constituent Services and Office Operations and is part of the Internal Operations Team.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Education/Experience:
BS/BA preferred
Customer service experience required
Completion of a Governor’s Office internship preferred
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
