2024 Summer Policy Internship

BGT Strategies is a multi-dimensional consulting and advocacy firm based in Dallas, Texas. We are seeking 1 qualified policy intern to serve our diverse clientele. Interns will work across the firm’s strategic pillars: lobbying and political consulting, community engagement, campaign management, business development, and communications. Applicants are expected to stay organized and manage multiple projects at once. Interns will work on a variety of tasks individually and in collaboration with colleagues, clients, and other firms on occasion. 

Responsibilities:

●      Research and advocate for specific policies related to housing and community development

●      Participate in community outreach through phone-banking, e-mail communications, block-walking, and other activities

●      Staff events including set-up, check-in, and tear-down

●      Support campaign and fundraising events

●      Research and author BGT Strategies’ and respective clients’ newsletters

●      Assist with business development by putting together proposals and pitch decks as needed

●      Monitor relevant Dallas City Council, regional, and State Legislative meetings and briefings

Requirements:

●      Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word

●      Comfortable analyzing and summarizing legislation and policy proposals

●      Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
