Summary

About the Position: The incumbent serves Army Senior Leaders and support their engagement with counterparts, Allies and Partners, and provides staff expertise for responding to key national security issues of concern to the Army.


Duties

Participate in the development and implementation of U.S. government and U.S. Army policy and programs related to bilateral relations with assigned countries.

Establish and maintain working relationships with U.S. attaches and security assistance personnel in assigned countries and Washington-based military attaches from those countries.

Ensure Army goals and values are considered in the development and implementation of Army policy.

Assist the Chief of Staff of the Army in participating in bilateral meetings with counterparts.

Prepare executive summaries on important issues, events, or anticipated problems.

Review and provide recommendations on OPLANS, strategy documents, and policy proposals.

Accompany Senior Army Leadership on overseas foreign visits to assigned countries.

Draft and review branch products, coordinate responses, and provide inputs to other country and regional products.

Prepare and maintain politico-military overviews for assigned countries and provides politico-military overview briefings, as required.
