Policy Analyst

EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT


Summary

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) is a statutory part of OMB. It is the U.S. Government's central authority for the review of Executive Branch regulations, approval of Government information collections, establishment of Government statistical practices, and coordination of Federal privacy policy.


Duties

As a Policy Analyst, GS-0301-14/15, your typical work assignments may include the following:


Ensuring that Executive Branch policies, products, and initiatives are consistent with OMB privacy and related information policies:

- Reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on proposed Executive Branch products and communications with privacy implications, including national-level directives, Executive Orders, guidance, policy statements, regulations, reports, and Executive Branch correspondence.

- Reviewing, analyzing, developing, monitoring, and providing technical assistance on legislative proposals and testimony that implicate privacy.

- Providing written and oral recommendations to OIRA and OMB leadership in the development of policy positions and statements on matters that have privacy implications.

- Providing critical advice to OIRA and OMB leadership and to others across the EOP to ensure Administration initiatives are implemented in compliance with OMB privacy and related information policy requirements.

- Coordinating agency and OMB positions on privacy and related information policy issues, including matters related to data governance, records management, and access to government information.
