Position Summary
An emerging national, multi-city campaign to build power with app-based ride hail and delivery workers seeks a lead online to offline worker organizer to join our team. This position will be housed at PowerSwitch Action, an anchor organization in the national campaign.

PowerSwitch Action is a national network organizing to realize multi-racial feminist democracies in our cities, towns and regions. Together with our 20 affiliates and one regional project we are driving an agenda to bring the billions of dollars in local public investments under the oversight of the communities most impacted, to expand decision making and power to more of the residents in our regions, to support the building and growth of member-based organizations, and to fight when necessary corporate actors who use their power to extract and cause harm to our communities.
Leaders of our network and national staff recently completed our long-term agenda on our path to collective liberation and towards a multiracial, feminist democracy that is powered by abundance, freedom and self-determination, radical inclusion, and meaningful work that is valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, recruit, and develop worker leaders
- Work closely with the field director, local campaign leads, and campaign team to develop online and offline strategies, plans and tactics that align with campaign priorities and goals.
- Lead in the implementation and innovation of the online to offline organizing model.
- Experiment with digital tools and tactics to identify, recruit, and develop workers online including through paid ad campaigns, social media research/engagement, peer to peer texting, etc.
- Develop and implement strategies to move workers up a ladder of engagement and deepen their investment in the campaign.
Train and support organizers and worker leaders in online to offline organizing
- Support organizers in using digital tools to engage workers, build connection and community online, and translate online engagement into offline action.
- Develop organizing resources, toolkits, and trainings for organizers and train organizers and worker leaders in online and offline tools, tactics, and strategies.
Manage digital organizing data and tools
- Design and implement systems to and track, manage, evaluate, and adapt digital organizing strategies and tactics.
- Administer tools and platforms like CRMs (EveryAction), texting (ThruText), virtual phonebanks, FB Ads Manager, etc.
Qualifications
Experience and Skills
- Experience organizing in a membership-based organization, including experience digital organizing
- Track record of successfully using digital tools such as peer-to-peer texting platforms, Facebook messenger, and other digital communications platforms for organizing.
- Comfort working with data and managing database and outreach tools like EveryAction, Nationbuilder or ActionNetwork.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics into digestible and shareable online content.
- Knowledgeable about social media performance metrics, Facebook Insights and Ads Manager, and making strategic use of this information and these tools.
- Ability to experiment, problem-solve and analyze in order to sharpen efforts.
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Fluency in a second language, ideally Spanish, is highly preferred.
- Experience organizing workers around workplace issues in a union or worker center context.
- Ability to create compelling social media photo/video content.

Travel and schedule
Once travel resumes, the Lead Online to Offline Organizer is expected to travel 1-2 times per month for in-person visits to local campaigns, coalition gatherings, team planning meetings, staff retreats, and so forth. Also expected to periodically work odd hours.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position and reports to the Field Director.
We offer a competitive starting salary between $71,000-$76,000 (based on experience) and generous benefits, including:
- 401(k) with 5% employer contribution.
- 100% of health, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their family members (spouse/domestic partner and children).
- Life insurance for employees.
- Flexible Spending Account: Employees may contribute up to $5,000 a year for childcare expenses and up to $2,500 a year for medical expenses (no employer contribution).
- 12 days of vacation, increasing with tenure up to 20 days.
- 12 days of sick leave per year.
- 6 week sabbatical for full time employees after five years of employment.
