The Biden-Harris campaign is hiring Battleground Regional Political & Coalitions Directors to support and facilitate the communication between state political teams and campaign headquarters (HQ). The Battleground Regional Political & Coalitions Directors are responsible for clearly communicating national political and coalition strategy with the states. This team will coordinate with state and HQ leadership to support in-state events with principals and surrogates, launch local coalition efforts, and most importantly help drive state and local political priorities to mobilize a critical coalition of leaders in states to enthusiastically re-elect President Biden and Vice President Harris. At their core, the Battleground Regional Political & Coalitions Director is collaborative, communicates at a high level, manages complex projects, loves to support and coach staff, creatively problem solves, and enjoys building new relationships - as well as leveraging long-standing relationships - to grow our Biden-Harris coalition to reelect the President and Vice President.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary facilitator between a region of state political & coalitions programs, national political & coalitions, and national state team priorities.
  • Serve as strategist and consultant in strategic meetings focused on engaging political and coalition teams across a subset of states.
  • Collaborate across Political & Coalitions, Trips, Surrogates, Policy, and as well other HQ teams to manage and communicate big picture political strategy in states, execute state events, or other initiatives within key communities.
  • Synthesize cross-region and state insights to develop recommendations for the states and HQ teams.
  • Collaborate with state Political & Coalitions Directors to plan and implement priorities across regions.
  • Support state Political & Coalitions Directors in hiring, management, and program execution.
  • Deliver customized support for states in the form of draft plans, template materials, and more.
  • Travel Required: Medium, 25%

Preferred Skills & Responsibilities

  • You have 2 or more years of experience in managing a high-performing and diverse team.
  • You have political relationship and coalition management skills, in particular a proven track record and experience in voter engagement organizations in a state or nationally.
  • You value high-quality relationships and enjoy connecting the dots between people to create impactful work.
  • You love building systems for innovative political programs.
  • You can observe workplace culture and performance in order to effectively coach and influence staff to improve and excel.

  • You’re an absolute sponge. You want to get your hands on as much information as possible and can quickly put a point on it for others.
