What We Offer
The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $70,765 - $78,000 annually. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Location
The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In this position you can expect to work on site at the City and County Building five days per week, with an option for hybrid work later. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.
What You'll Do
The office of Council member Diana Romero Campbell is seeking a Senior Council Aide with prior experience working for an elected official, government agency or other public-facing organization. This individual will project manage and create visual and written content for newsletters, website, and social media. This individual will also provide policy support to the council member, perform constituent services, and provide other support for the overall Council office. We are looking for someone who is highly detail-oriented and thorough, curious and asks a lot of questions, and someone who has basic layout and design skills/experience. This is a full-time at-will position.
This is a great position for someone interested in being a part of a team advancing urban policy that promotes social and economic justice. The selected applicant will gain invaluable experience that is highly desirable to other sectors and will learn about various City policies in this role.
As a Senior Council Aide, duties can include but are not limited to:
Communications
  • Manage multiple social media platforms including posting daily, informational updates and engaging with community members
  • Prepare and present reports and findings on legislative and district issues
Constituent Services and Community Engagement
  • Assist in casework as a liaison between the Council member and constituents including answering calls and emails
  • Manage constituent inquiries by working closely with City departments and researching solutions to close cases
Administrative Activities
  • Supervise lower-level staff in the council member office
  • Serve as the council member’s office manager and plan and coordinate daily office operations
  • Assist in the development and tracking of district budgets and expenditure control
Legislation and Committees
  • Track upcoming and current legislation
  • Conduct research, surveys, and perform analysis of complex problems or issues in areas where special expertise or knowledge is required, recommend solutions to complex policy issues, and implement actions for appropriate resolution as necessary
  • Track and coordinate citizen zoning, licensing matters, and applications within the city council member’s district
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
About You
What You'll Bring
Our ideal candidate will be and have the following:
  • Very detail oriented and comfortable doing highly collaborative work
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekend and after hours when needed
  • Experience with design and layout of communications materials
  • Experience using one or more of the following: Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education : Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience : Three years of administrative experience in the public sector
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements
