Job Description
The Office of Senator-elect Adam Schiff is seeking a Legislative Correspondent with excellent writing, organization, and communications skills to work in his Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have exceptional writing skills, be incredibly detail-oriented, able to meet deadlines on quick turnarounds, and be a team player able to take on any task.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, responding to constituent mail, assisting with mail operations, preparing memos and background for the Senator, assisting the legislative team, taking constituent meetings, researching and developing policy issues and ideas, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should have at least 2 years of previous Hill, campaign experience or other relevant policy experience. Proficiency in IQ and a public policy background are strongly preferred. California ties a plus should be noted and previous experience as a legislative correspondent preferred.
This is a full-time in-person position with a salary of $63,000. This position is eligible for all Senate employee benefits. Senator-elect Schiff’s office is an equal opportunity employer.
