The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission is hiring for two positions on the Economics and Trade Team: Policy Analyst or Senior Policy Analyst and Research Assistant.


The Economics and Trade Team contributes to the U.S.-China policy discussion in Washington by conducting forward-leaning research and analysis and by serving as a trusted resource to Congress. The team's portfolio is wide-ranging and includes China’s domestic economy, financial system, and evolving policy and regulatory landscape, including IP rights, data security, food and product safety, energy, and technology development; China’s economic diplomacy and statecraft; U.S.-China bilateral trade and investment flows; China’s adherence to bilateral and multilateral agreements; export controls; and more.


  • Policy Analyst/Senior Policy Analyst, Economics and Trade: We are looking for an individual with superior research, writing, and communications skills to prepare written and oral analyses and assessments of issues within the team’s portfolio, develop and plan Commission hearings, and research and draft portions of the Commission’s Annual Report. Additional experience with project management, colleague mentorship, and public presentation of research is highly valued for the Senior Policy Analyst role.


  • Research Assistant: We are looking for an individual with superior research, writing, and communications skills to assist in the preparation of analyses and assessments of issues within the team’s portfolio, support development and planning for Commission hearings, and provide research assistance for the Commission’s Annual Report.
