The high level:
As Fundraising Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of Reading Partners’ fundraising efforts in our individual campaigns, including our 2025 Annual Appeal. This role reports to the vice president of philanthropy. In this role, you will help plan, organize, and execute our Annual Appeal campaign strategy; support with creating and managing impactful donor communications; and ensure all campaign milestones are met on time. The Fundraising Project Manager is a highly collaborative, goal-oriented, and driven professional who is excited about project planning, hands-on operational work, and project execution. This role will start as early as August 2025 and conclude in October 2025.
Location: This position is remote but requires candidates to reside within one of Reading Partners’ operating locations. Reading Partners locations include Baltimore, MD, Charleston, SC, Los Angeles, CA, New York City, NY, North Texas (Dallas and Fort Worth), San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Twin Cities, MN, Tulsa, OK, and Washington, D.C.
What you’ll do:
Successfully plan and manage individual giving campaigns:
- Ensure 100% of campaign project milestones are met on time or ahead of schedule
- Support national and regional development teams’ implementation of the annual appeal campaign, helping raise over $700K for the organization
- Assist in customizing annual appeal campaign for regions
- Coordinate with national development staff to prepare communications to various stakeholders (e.g., national board)
- Meet and coordinate with the marketing & communications team to plan the internal rollout of the annual appeal campaign
- Meet with regional development staff to troubleshoot any issues with the annual campaign, as necessary
Enhance donor engagement and communications:
- Collaborate with marketing & communications team to develop and distribute email campaigns to individual donors
- Help achieve a high click-through rate for campaign-related communications
- Support with organizing and executing compelling communications that galvanize individuals to donate and join Reading Partners’ mission
Monitor and analyze individual giving campaign performance:
- In collaboration with development operations staff, provide reports on individual campaign progress, highlighting KPIs and areas for improvement
- Track and report on performance of various fundraising channels utilized (e.g., emails, socials)
- Support with analyzing donor data to identify trends and insights that can inform Reading Partners’ future individual campaigns

How you’ll do it:
Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to develop detailed project plans, manage timelines, and ensure smooth implementation of campaign tasks and objectives.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate with cross-functional, cross-regional teams to ensure campaign tasks are completed on time
Development operations and reporting
- Analyze donor data to help identify key trends, insights, and areas for improvement in campaign performance
- Support development operations staff in creating reports, templates, and other operational needs to effectively implement individual giving campaigns
Communication and Collaboration
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders in Reading Partners, including, but not limited to: national development, regional fundraising, and marketing teams
- Ability to craft high-quality donor communications that promote Reading Partners and compel individual donors to join our mission
About you!
You’ll be successful in this role if you:
- Show 3+ years of experience in project management (preferably in a nonprofit environment) or an individual giving-related role
- Have a track record of successfully managing and implementing cross-functional projects and meeting deadlines
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment with cross-functional teams
- Are a self-starter, with a proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Have a high degree of comfort with Classy and Salesforce, or other fundraising CRMs and software
- Demonstrate a deep belief in our mission, and commitment to race, equity, diversity, and inclusion, and root your work in our core values
- Ability to prove eligibility to work legally in the U.S. and that you are at least 18 years of age.
