Purpose: The Senior Digital Organizing Training Coordinator is a management level position and will be responsible for the development, execution and coordination of trainings and other learning opportunities designed to develop digital organizing competencies and skills for organizers and campaigners within the SEIU IU Organizing Divisions and our affiliated local unions. The Senior Digital Organizing Training Coordinator must be able to assess the development of organizers, member organizers and campaigners to effectively utilize digital strategies, tactics and tools to win organizing campaigns and identify their needs and opportunities to grow and advance to the next level of development and responsibility. The Senior Digital Organizing Training Coordinator must be able to conduct and facilitate trainings and learning opportunities in both in-person, online and other settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior Digital Organizing Training Coordinator will be responsible for:

? Working within the National Organizing Department's Organizing Capacity Program to develop and execute trainings and development opportunities on utilizing digital strategies and tactics for new and experienced union organizers, lead/senior organizers, and campaign coordinators/directors, including training how to utilize platforms such as Facebook/Facebook Groups, Twitter, Instagram, and Text Programs to move the goals of a campaign as well as teaching social media strategies to increase worker engagement and mobilization on union platforms;

? Working with the Member Organizing Program to develop trainings and learning opportunities to utilize digital tools and platforms to increase member engagement on the union's digital platforms and participation on a union campaign;

? Creating and writing relevant and effective training materials, including curricula, hand-outs, PowerPoint or other presentations, and participatory exercises to create an interactive or hands-on learning experience;

? Learning and utilizing creative training techniques and approaches to teach concepts, skills, and best practices of digital organizing strategies and tools for union organizing;

? Adapting teaching strategies according to the training audience and applying the best approaches to maximize the learning opportunities of trainees;

? Work in coordination with the SEIU Communication Department and Divisions and our affiliated locals to develop and implement strategic trainings and other staff and member development components;

? Facilitating and providing feedback in large and small group training discussions, exercises and practice labs to support trainees' development and enhance their understanding of and ability to utilize training information and materials in the classroom and on campaigns;

? Working closely with the department's administrative team to ensure training logistical requirements and needs are successfully executed and met;

? Maintaining and updating training materials in the training database or other sites and maintaining and monitoring a training budget;

? Researching conferences and external trainings that would benefit individuals or group development as it pertains to digital organizing strategies and use of platforms;

? Additional responsibilities, as may be required, including but not limited to participating in the field on organizing campaigns or at events or conferences as needed.

Contacts: Organizing and Division leadership and staff; Local Union leaders and staff; Other SEIU International staff, and outside organizations.

Direction and Decision Making: This position reports to the Training Director of the Organizing Department's Center for Organizer Development and may collaborate with other staff within the National Organizing Department, Deputy Organizing Director, and/or the IU's Communications Department. Must work without a high degree of supervision and have the ability to manage their own work and the work of others. Requires a high level of judgment and ability to take initiative and work independently. Must use a high level of judgment and discretion in resolving problems within SEIU, the Division, and our Locals. Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience OR a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

? 3-5 years of campaign planning experience required, including developing and implementing strategy on campaigns requiring a digital or social media strategy (union and/or community organizing experience preferred);

? Thorough knowledge of digital strategies required, including list-building or lead generation on various platforms, message amplification, content management, online engagement and mobilization, and multivariate testing to optimize results.

? Demonstrated experience to teach others on use of digital organizing apps and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, EveryAction, Hustle, ThruTalk or other mass texting app, CallHub or other phonebanking app, MiniVan or other canvassing app, Zoom or other remote conferencing and YouTube, FB Live or other livestreaming platforms.

? Experience in implementing online to offline organizing strategies on campaigns and ability to train others.

? Experience with streaming actions and events and knowledge of best practices.

? Familiarity in designing and executing formal or structured in-person and/or online trainings and webinars a plus.

? Familiarity with design and presentation software such as Canva, Microsoft 365 or Prezi.

? Excellent writing and verbal skills communication skills a must and experience with tailoring messaging and/or training content to varying audiences.

? Must be able to work effectively with a diverse group of people and open to learning how to apply a racial justice lens to the work.

? Demonstrated capacity to continuously develop knowledge and skills related to use of rapidly changing technology and platforms.

? Ability to write, proofread and speak Spanish a plus.

? Familiarity with CRMs, Adobe Creative Suite, and other web development tools and applications a plus.

Other Requirements:

? Knowledge of unions or other advocacy organizations and has demonstrated commitment to social and economic justice.

? Must be able to handle multiple “priority” projects simultaneously and set and meet deadlines, and if leading a group or team, ensure they do the same. Works well under pressure.

Physical Requirements: Work in this position will generally be performed in a remote setting. However, the job may require work in other settings conducive to performing the tasks required to complete assignments. Must be available for some travel, including overnight stays. Travel and work beyond traditional business hours is required.
