Summary
This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights (J). The J Under Secretariat leads U.S. Department of State efforts to prevent and counter threats to civilian security and advance the security and interests of the American people by assisting countries around the world to build more democratic, stable, just, and prosperous societies.
Duties
Serves as the leading authority in public diplomacy strategy in the office and leads J front office and broader, J family efforts to establish and coordinate PD policy priorities and plans to implement those priorities.
Maintains a liaison role with high-level officials within the Department, at the White House, the Congress, associations and foundations, the academic and civil society communities, and other government agencies.
Engages with diverse senior officials at the Department and in the interagency on public diplomacy issues.
Drafts and coordinates organizational policies and processes, socializes new policies with J family bureaus and offices
