Position Summary:

The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in fostering relationships with community members, local organizations, businesses, and volunteers to promote the Idaho Humane Society’s mission. This position will focus on creating and maintaining a robust community presence through events, outreach programs, and partnerships. The role also involves supporting donor development efforts and coordinating with internal teams to enhance community involvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for community donation inquiries, ensuring prompt, professional responses and accurate tracking.
  • Foster relationships with current and prospective sponsors, businesses, and community partners to support development and outreach efforts.
  • Represent IHS at community events, networking opportunities, and public meetings to promote the organization’s mission and programs.
  • Collaborate with the Development Department to identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including sponsorships, partnerships, procurement, and community events.
  • Solicit, secure, and manage procurement efforts, including tracking donated items for auctions and raffles, and ensuring donor acknowledgment.
  • Organize and oversee micro-events to increase awareness and fundraising efforts.
  • Support planning and execution of larger events, such as See Spot Walk and Toast to Tails, with a focus on sponsorships and procurement.
  • Coordinate event logistics and serve as the liaison to vendors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
  • Track and report event performance metrics, including sponsorships, funds raised, and attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Services Manager to recruit, train, and engage volunteers for development-related activities.
  • Act as a liaison between IHS and community partners to ensure successful collaboration on outreach and fundraising initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification

Required:

  • At least 1-2 years of event planning experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, as well as organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills; enjoy meeting new people face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals, including high level corporate executives and managers.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Sincere interest in IHS mission and vision.

Desired:

  • Non-profit and sponsorship/fundraising experience preferred.
  • Experience using donor database software.
  • Working knowledge of social media tools.

Working Conditions

  • Indoors in air-conditioned/heated office, outdoors at shelter or on-location for various activities.
  • Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week; evening and weekend hours will be required, especially when the IHS hosts and participates in events.
  • Limited exposure to animals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,760.00 - $52,000.00 per year
