Job Description
Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) seeks a motivated, high-energy representative to serve as her Agriculture Outreach Director for her Nebraska offices. This person will serve as a liaison to the agriculture community and handle a dynamic portfolio of issues impacting agriculture in the state. This person should be a strategic planner and effective collaborator, willing to travel the state, representing Senator Fischer at meetings and community events, conducting outreach and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and staffing the Senator as needed. This position includes facilitating constituent casework with relevant federal agencies on behalf of Nebraskans as well as maintaining ongoing communication regarding key issues.
Additional responsibilities will include monitoring of agriculture issues impacting Nebraska, updating and coordinating with policy staff on key issues, drafting memos and correspondence, organizing meetings and events, communicating on behalf of the office, and other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend hours may be required. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, team-oriented problem solver with strong verbal and written communication skills and possess a strong ability to multitask. Experience in agriculture-related fields is required.
