Job Description
The Development Operations Manager (DOM) is responsible for managing and optimizing organizational Development processes to maintain the highest level of data integrity to support revenue generation. We utilize the Raiser’s Edge / NXT platform. The Development Operations Manager is responsible for producing regular and ad hoc reports and data files, overseeing gift entry and acknowledgment, and optimizing our database implementation to support a fast-paced and dynamic development team. The Development Operations Manager provides training to team members, creates, and maintains gift processing and database policies and procedures, and works closely with the Finance team to reconcile gift activity. This position is a great fit for an experienced Raiser’s Edge administrator with broad technical skills who can switch between focusing on details and seeing the big picture.
This is a full-time, exempt position. This position reports to the Individual Giving and Major Gifts Director and supervises the Gift Processing Coordinator. The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $76,000.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Database Management (40%)
• Serve as the organization’s primary Administrator for Raiser’s Edge, Classy, Omatic, and all Blackbaud platforms.
• Create and manage staff user accounts, roles, and privileges for database use.
• Train staff on policies and procedures, and answer questions as needed.
• Serve as the main point of contact between the organization & vendors (Blackbaud, Classy, Omatic)
• Research database enhancements, app integrations, best practices, and other methods to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the development, finance, and communications teams’ work
• Consult with Development Team members to understand their needs, define requirements, recommend, and implement solutions using platform best practices.
• Create and maintain Policy & Procedure documentation for database usage and processes (data entry, gift processing, constituent updates, & reporting)
• Create new donation pages and online donation forms as needed
• Proactively support the reporting needs of the Development Team, Executive Leadership, and Finance team, and pulling other database reports as needed, such as:
• Weekly fundraising dashboards and donor updates for the Development team
• Donor prospect data analysis and outreach segmentation for Individual Giving team
• Monthly financial reconciliation and regular audit compliance updates with the Finance team
Gift Processing and Reporting (40%)
• Provide oversight and accountability for timely gift processing and records updating, including data entry, constituent updates, reporting, and acknowledgments.
• In coordination with the Gift Processing Coordinator, enter wire transfers and stock gifts; manage recurring gift payments; import new constituents & gifts from third-party donor platforms (e.g., Benevity, Facebook, PayPal, etc.); manage account information and creation for matching gift programs and third-party sites
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor data: create new Campaigns, Appeals, Funds, & Classes; and regularly review, update, and clean up database to maximize efficiency of data entry and reporting
• Create appropriate mailing lists for various communications throughout the year: pull both physical mailing lists and email mailing lists as needed and update constituent records to reflect mass mailings and communications.
Department Administration and Support (20%)
• Manage Gift Processing Coordinator, regularly meeting to provide support around questions, problem solving, workload prioritization, and project management
• Communicate gifts received, stewardship, and/or reporting tasks with Development team fundraisers
• Update the Development team SharePoint site with gift tracking data, donor analysis reports, donor acknowledgment documents, and donation information
• Work with Events team to ensure accurate and successful event data capture, including registration, guest lists, donation processing, and gratitude
• Work closely with the Information Technology team around cyber security, regulatory requirements, and enterprise architecture compliance
Skills/Qualifications
• Experience as a Raiser’s Edge NXT administrator (both Database view and web view)
• Experience with Classy and Omatic software preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 solutions, especially Excel and mail merge functions
• Experience working with SharePoint preferred
• Experience and understanding of PCI DSS regulatory requirements
• Ability to process and analyze data to help inform strategy and decision making
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people of a diverse set of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
• Organized and able to work independently and in a team environment – “can do” attitude
• Ability to handle multiple demands; results-oriented, works quickly and accurately

• Frequently required to stand, walk, use fingers, hands and arms
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds
• Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, walking to various work areas, going up and down stairs, and standing are required
• Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary
• Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
