Nasdaq is a leading technology company dedicated to improving the liquidity, transparency, and integrity of the financial system. We are seeking a Director of Policy and Regulatory Communications, a key role in our growing External Relations team. The position is designed for a seasoned, deeply strategic practitioner with strong familiarity with the financial services regulatory and policy landscape, and a proven track record of advising senior executives or officials.


The ideal candidate should have a combination of policy and corporate public affairs experience and a strong track record of media relations with top-tier reporters and outlets and proven capabilities as a writer / speech writer.


Responsibilities:


  • Policy communications strategy - Define, develop, and implement strategic communications plans that advance the organization’s policy and advocacy agenda.
  • Campaign management – Serve as senior leader of enterprise-wise campaigns including, but not limited to, policy-specific programs.
  • Thought Leadership Hub – Leader of Nasdaq’s regulatory and policy thought leadership hub, a new initiative aimed to support clients in navigating regulatory and policy-related complexity.
  • Media relations - Build and maintain relationships with key reporters and editors focused on policy within financial services and technology.
  • Lead writer - Serve as lead writer for key content including speeches, bylines, and other executive content.
  • Senior advisor - Serve as senior advisor to the Government Relations, Legal, Risk and Regulatory teams, and to communications colleagues from across the function regarding policy trends or issues.
  • Intelligence reporting - Work with internal and external counsel and government affairs experts to stay ahead of evolving regulations and other legal requirements across each of Nasdaq’s core markets.

Qualifications:


  • 10-15 years of experience in various strategic communications roles, in government or in-house at a corporation
  • Strong relationships with key media and influencers in Washington D.C.
  • Deep expertise in regulatory and policy environment in financial services; expertise in financial markets, market technology

The base pay range for this role is $118,400 - $197,300. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
