Based in New York City, the Vice President, Communications, will play a key role in managing the public relations, communications and speaking engagements for senior executives, and also collaborate with Human Resources and other departments on employee communications. This executive will be a strategic and proactive communications professional with the capacity to also be a hands-on, sleeves-up team player. This leader will have superior business and communication skills and will be successful at developing effective relationships with sports, business, and trade media.

Essential Functions:

Develop and execute communications strategies, initiatives, and messaging relating to internal communications and annual calendar events to reflect the league’s wide variety of priorities

Coordinate with executives across departments to ensure consistency of messaging and strategy

Prepare briefing materials for dissemination to executive staff

Place compelling stories (through proactive storytelling) that highlight the NFL’s business success, executive and thought-leadership

Closely collaborate with the SVP, Executive Operations

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree preferably in communications or journalism

A minimum of 12 years of experience in corporate communication with significant experience in media, sports and/or entertainment

Experience working with high profile brands and with or as part of an executive leadership team

Demonstrated success in managing complex challenges with broad scope and scale

Proven success in creating and executing high profile communication initiatives

Travel:

This position could require extensive travel during season and pre-season, including on weekends.

Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time employee. This is an exempt-level position and will require frequent work on nights, weekends and holidays.
