About the Role:

Sr. Deposit Insight – Innovation Economy Research Managers are leaders in designing and leading critical research initiatives which aid in connecting the dots between data, analytic insights, and advanced statistical techniques to drive accurate, controlled and informed decision making in support of business growth for clients and SVB.

In support of driving standardization and insight into SVB’s Liquidity Solutions portfolio, you will bring technical rigor and expertise with an ability to communicate effectively with senior executives, business segment leads and other finance partners. You will utilize these skills to understand challenges and suggest solutions, bringing a passion for using research and insights to drive business value. Effective Insight & Research Managers apply their skills across the end-to-end picture of identifying and exploring relevant market data sources, building repeatable, consumable data assets in partnership with data management leads, formulating compelling visualizations to drive business understanding, and applying advanced analytical skills.

Once Here You Will:

  • Conceptualize, lead and manage the research and information agenda for Liquidity Solutions within the Commercial Bank, covering Start Up Banking, Technology, Health and Life Sciences, Corporate Banking, Global Fund Business, EMEA, APAC and other business segments
  • Analyze financial statements for clients including conducting interviews of management, developing financial/valuation models, writing research reports, tracking / identifying the broad themes of the innovation economy and reporting them to executive leadership.
  • Contribute to global market research and forecasting efforts by collecting data and insights from multiple markets in order to provide business segment with custom research, reports and presentations
  • Execute on efforts that support key priorities for the business - including foundational work that will drive strategy (e.g. understanding client needs, attitudes, behaviors) for new product development, client liquidity advisory and business development.
  • Act as a research and insights subject matter expert and articulate a deep understanding and knowledge of various research methodologies to partners (and team members) including knowing when and how to apply different qualitative, quantitative and mixed method approaches for executive consumption
  • Own the Weekly Deposit Insight newsletter, ensuring the quality of research is best in class and employs the most rigorous and up to date methods
  • Fluently speak to how research and client insights impact business situations, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations in order to drive decision making.
  • Regularly synthesize and communicate and present findings in written and oral form to partners, including peers and senior leaders in a way that tells a clear and compelling story
  • Work closely with vendors, internal partners, and agencies to ensure research is executed on schedule and within budget.
  • Stay abreast of developments across the Financial Services competitive landscape to further inform the insights created from primary research
  • Find opportunities to integrate research data with work happening in the larger analytics organization
  • Be a value catalyst. Perform analytical deep dives to understand performance trends and deliver data-driven, actionable insights that convince product and business leaders to make quality decisions. 
  • Be a builder. Develop and automate data sets and reports, iteratively building and prototyping data sets to provide insights at scale.
  • Be data-informed. Form perspectives and generate outcomes by seeking out data and context.
  • Be a storyteller. Synthesize complex analysis into easily understandable stories for leadership and partner teams.
  • Be a thought leader. Drive adoption of advanced techniques and tooling to accomplish goals, continually pushing the envelope of what is possible.
  • Be a change agent. Inform, influence, and lead new initiatives that are data-driven and meaningfully shift core KPIs in the positive direction.
  • Be passionate. Evangelize the capabilities and tools to internal stakeholders with purpose and passion.

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and 8+ years post-collegiate work experience performing research at a research house or in a corporation
  • Passionate about markets and innovation economy and a champion for change with willingness to challenge status quo in order to build a truly client centric insight factory
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent presentation skills as well as the ability to influence effectively
  • Strong analytical acumen, with experience building product intuition, solving problems using data and providing business insights
  • Knowledge of banking and liquidity products, preferably those used by business and commercial clients
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to break down complex problems, formulate plans, and proactively develop solutions to test and validate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CFA, MBA and / or Demonstrated understanding of banking concepts and liquidity products

Base Pay:

$132,337.00 - $198,506.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
