Resident/Assistant Property Manager – Veterans Commons

Summary
The Assistant Property Manager supports the Property Manager with daily building operations, which includes maintaining safety and security of the building for the residents. This position involves extensive interaction with both on-site staff and tenants.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain tenant files
- Maintain current files and recordkeeping
- Process daily mail, invoices, and filing
- Assist with administration of housing applications and rent collection process
- Assist with rent bank deposits
- Assist in tenant re-certification process in compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies
- Order office supplies, fill out maintenance work orders, and distribute memos and notices
- Assist Property Manager with compiling and completing tenant information for monthly and annual summary reports
- Support Property Manager as requested
- Supervise Front Desk staff & fill shifts when replacements are unavailable
- Maintain orderliness of front entrance, lobby, and adjoining rooms/areas
- Assist tenants with physical disabilities as needed and respond to any reasonable modification
- Address tenant requests and respond as instructed to building emergencies requests in a timely fashion
- Respond to any reasonable accommodation requests in a timely fashion and in compliance with fair housing
- Employee must be able to perform all duties within what would be considered reasonable accommodations
Requirements
Education
- Tax Credit Specialist (TCS) required - must be obtained in the first year.
- California Certified Resident Residential Manager (CCRM) or other equivalent designation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Experience
- Translatable military experience and skills may be alternatively substituted
- Prior experience with public supported residential property management
- Prior experience with security and/or reception work
Qualifications
- Clean driving record with the ability to travel within San Francisco
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Commitment to a safe and pleasant work environment
- Sensitivity to issues facing homeless, disabled, and elderly populations
- Pleasant and professional manner with calm disposition
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of personalities and be comfortable working with an at-risk client population, including embracing the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative
Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Ability to work with people of diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and exercise own judgment in problem-solving
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to function under stressful circumstances
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
