We're currently looking for a seasoned communications executive to lead a corporate and policy communications function that is fully integrated with the business strategy. In this role, you'll guide the development and implementation of corporate positioning and crisis management on a global scale. The role will work directly with leaders across the corporate affairs function including Legal, Government Relations, Trust & Safety, and CSR.
Job Description:
-Develop global positions on key issues as well as the strategy for reactive and proactive communication plans
- Develop proactive campaign strategies to educate policy makers and users on key issues - Provide ongoing counsel and thought partnership to the company's senior leaders to best position ByteDance in new and growing markets to achieve our business priorities
- Successfully create and execute crisis communications and risk mitigation plans
- Draft expert level communications on behalf of the leadership team - Develop and execute executive visibility programs that incorporate speaking engagements
- Build strong internal relationships in public policy (government affairs), legal, and product as well as other global departments
- Grow, engage, and lead a global communications team
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in public affairs or crisis communications
- Expertise developing corporate communications plans aligning internal, external, and stakeholder communications against business priorities
- Proven performance managing communications in crisis situations, including creating clear directives and follow-through
- Deep understanding of regulatory, data security, and privacy landscape
- Ability to weigh big picture objectives with immediate business needs
- Experience managing high-performing teams
- Previous experience working for a matrixed, multinational company
