We are searching for the first President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Charlotte Region (BGCCR), a trailblazing leader ready to start-up a new Boys & Girls Club organization in one of America’s fastest-growing, most vibrant cities and the largest community in the US without a Boys & Girls Club presence The successful candidate will lead the execution of the initial business plan, creating and implementing the overall operating systems for the corporation and elevating the brand to youth, families, investors and the broader community. Responsibilities:
- 1 in 7 children in Charlotte live in poverty, compared to the national average of 1 in 10 children (U.S. Census Bureau, 2023).
- 1 in 6 teens in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District (CMSD) drop out of high school, higher than the national dropout rate of 1 in 9 teens (NCES, 2023).
- 19% of teens report suicidal thoughts (2021 High School Youth Risk Behavior Survey), compared to the national rate of 14% (CDC, 2021).
- As of June 30, 2024, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported nearly 1,700 juvenile arrests, reflecting a 12% year-over-year increase. 61% of these arrests were repeat offenders, highlighting systemic gaps in intervention and rehabilitation.
- Guides, supports and partners with the Board of Directors in establishing goals and
