Job Description


As a key member of our US Public Policy team, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping some of the most pressing tech policy issues by representing Twitter and our approach to federal, state, and civil society stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Meet with government and civil society stakeholders to educate them on Twitter’s approach and shape policy outcomes.
  • Manage a public policy portfolio, including content moderation and data privacy issues, and be the go-to representative for the company on these issues before federal and state lawmakers.
  • Represent Twitter at tech industry gatherings and coalition meetings, and speak publicly on policy panels at events and conferences.
  • Conduct policy analysis and work with other Twitter teams to develop policy solutions that meet the needs of policymakers, while advancing the interests of people on Twitter.
  • Support our philanthropic goals through our Twitter For Good program.
  • Provide team support during crisis response and natural emergencies.

Qualifications


Who You Are

  • Significant experience working in the federal government, politics, and public policy with deep familiarity across all three disciplines.
  • Experience working in the U.S. Congress and lobbying is required. Familiarity with state policy lobbying is a plus.
  • Tech policy expertise on content moderation and data privacy is ideal.
  • Must be able to register as a lobbyist.
  • Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • A focus on cross-functional collaboration and team orientation.
  • Experience with legislative tracking tools.
  • Reasonable fluency in social media.
  • A passion for the power of Twitter in the world.
  • A sense of humor.

Requirements

  • A university degree; advanced degree a plus.
  • 8-10 years of work experience in government, politics, or public policy; preferably within the internet/technology industry.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

The expected salary range for this role to be performed in Washington is USD $128,000 - USD $179,000. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.


This job is also eligible for participation in Twitter’s Performance Bonus Plan and Equity Incentive Plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
