Summary
This position is located in the Executive Office of the President, Office of Administration, Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The Budget Analyst will be responsible for interpreting and applying federal regulations and budgetary guidance; drafting and disseminating policy guidance and procedural instructions to assist program managers with planning and estimating funds for budget requests; and consolidating budget estimates to project the balanced, annual/multi-year funding requirements.
Duties
As a Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Interprets and applies Office of Management & Budget regulations, budgetary guidance, and directives
Provides advice and assistance financial to managers in the EOP components in developing and presenting budget requests and supporting documents
Prepares written narratives and develops detailed estimates of funding and manpower requirements to support agency programs
Reviews budget requests and consolidates budget estimates to reflect the balanced, annual and/or multi-year funding needs
Plans and coordinates negotiation strategies with financial management team, fund managers, and senior budget examiners
Applies new methods and techniques of budgeting to forecast long-range and short-range funding needs
Develops funding models and projections using Excel, EOP financial system reporting tools, and other analytical software.
Reviews and facilitates processing of requisitions, inter-agency agreements, and G-Invoicing actions.
Monitors the execution of assigned EOP component budgets through review of financial documents, examination of accounting records, and contact with program managers.
