The Manager of Scheduling and Advance will be primarily responsible for managing the Chair’s weekly schedule and travel needs and arrangements. This role is responsible for ensuring the Chair has all necessary written materials for all appointments, meetings and events. This role will work closely with the Director of the Chair’s Office to ensure all requests of the Chair’s time are reviewed, discussed and responded to in a timely manner. The Manager of Scheduling and Advance will travel with the Chair, advancing trips when appropriate and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and organizations to provide a full picture of all movements.


Responsibilities:

    • Directs the management and prioritization of the Chair’s schedule and meeting participation
    • Manages and maintains the Chair’s daily schedule and calendar
    • Arranges all travel logistics, including the production of itineraries and subsequent follow up with all entities on the schedule
    • Collaborates with other departments to develop long and short-term scheduling plans for the Chair
    • Works with the Director to the Chair’s Office to ensure the briefing book is complete and sent
    • Assists in compiling briefing materials for all trips, speeches, and meetings
    • Advises the Secretary’s Office, ASDC, and other departments of the Chair’s upcoming travel to ensure all suitable notifications are sent, as needed
    • Collaborate with the Operations team to determine and provide security support to the Chair
    • Travels and attends events with the Chair, as needed and as determined by the DNC Leadership Team.
    • Coordinates with party officials, stakeholders, and external groups in advance of the Chair’s travel
    • Works as a point-of-contact for all internal and external Chair requests
    • Creates and maintains cross-departmental relationships to enable leadership success
    • Accepts and takes ownership of various small, special projects, adapting and adjusting throughout the day to efficiently switch and complete varied tasks
    • Other duties as assigned to support the Chair and the DNC’s mission.

Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience, and at least 3-5 years of experience working in political campaigns, committees or other non-profit institutions
    • Strong interest and experience in politics, coalition building, as well as core Democratic Party issues
    • Comfortable working across multiple software platforms
    • Based in or willing to move to Washington, DC

This is a full-time, exempt position, that requires work on weekends and has an end date of November 15, 2024.

The starting salary for the Scheduling and Advance Manager position is $80,000 on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Scheduling and Advance Manager position will require travel, which could be up to 50% of the time.
