DESCRIPTION: The DC Rape Crisis Center is one of the country’s first rape crisis centers. Beyond providing therapeutic support to survivors, the DC Rape Crisis Center consciously works towards building a consent based society. At the heart of DCRCC’s clinical approach is a deep understanding of the intersectionality of oppression and how racial injustice and gender based violence are linked. The DC Rape Crisis Center (DCRCC) is looking to expand their clinical team to include an experienced hotline coordinator.

REPORTING/AUTHORITY: The Hotline Coordinator is supervised by the Clinical Director.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Hotline Coordinator will oversee the operation of our 24/7 Crisis hotline and support, onboard and train all of the hotline advocates.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Provide trauma informed and culturally competent direct services to survivors and secondary survivors of sexual violence

·       Coordinate all logistics of hotline program

·       Serves as weekday hotline backup support

·       Provide primary coverage of the hotline when volunteers are unavailable and may include weekend or overnight shifts

·       Provide shift reports, issues and recommendations for programmatic needs

·       Ability to coordinate a group of volunteer and/or paid staff advocates

·       Initiate, develop, and implement a plan for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention

·       Coordinate and schedule volunteers and maintains hotline schedule

·       Identify emerging training needs; coordinate volunteer training to meet compliance standards/regulations and best practices

·       Conduct presentations about the organization to community members

·       Maintain individual and department goals, activity metrics and key performance indicators

·       Collect, analyze and complete data reporting in alignment with requirements for both agency and funders

·       Attend internal and external meetings with staff and community stakeholders

·       Promote, support and demonstrate DCRCC’s mission, vision and values through both behavior and job performance and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards on a day to day basis

·       Ability to receive feedback and incorporate feedback

·       Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·       A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field. Masters and/or Licensed mental health professional preferred.

·       At least one year of experience in the field of social services, crisis hotline/intervention experience

·       Proficient knowledge of issues of sexual trauma and gender based violence

·       Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation

·       Adherence to agency regulations, licensing requirements and ethical guidelines of profession

·       Proven experience with trauma informed direct services

PREFERRED SKILLS:

·       Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

·       The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

·       Flexibility to work outside regular hours

·       Thrives in a dynamic environment

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills

·       Knowledge of database management systems

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary commensurate with experience. DC Rape Crisis Center provides employees with a comprehensive benefits package including paid holidays, vacation, sick and parental leave, 403b, health insurance contribution and ongoing training.
