Chairman Ted Cruz seeks a conservative counsel to join the Republican staff of the Senate Commerce Committee to lead on artificial intelligence policy. Key responsibilities include developing legislation; conducting oversight of agencies and nominations under the Committee’s jurisdiction; preparing hearings, drafting memos and talking points; and generally advising the Chairman. Ideal candidates would have at least 3-5 years of related policy, government, or legal experience. Candidates must be exceptionally strong writers, detail-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines, team players, and balance multiple projects. Successful candidates will display subject matter expertise, have the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the formulation and recommendation of policy positions, and a record of legislative accomplishments.
