Policy Analyst, Electric Vehicles

Our client, one of thle world's largest automotive manufacturers is hiring a Policy analyst to join their electric vehicle lobbying team in Washington, DC!

As a Policy Analyst on this team, you will work with the Sr. Manager of Policy and Strategy to support their EV and battery supply chain policies. The main responsibility of the role is to research policies, pull data and information on policies, manage political and policy tracking, and present and strategize findings.

Responsibilities:

Policy Projects / Research and Analysis – 50% of time

• As assigned by the Senior Manager, oversee policy projects including the required research and analysis needed to identify strategic business and advocacy opportunities
• Develop analyses of policy issues
• Draft comment letters to government regarding relevant policy issues
• Support site selection and economic development initiatives
• Develop talking points and testimony as needed
• Track project status

Political, News, and Policy Tracking – 30% of time

• Monitor and report on relevant news in the US and abroad
• Monitor and track legislative developments; analyze and report
• Monitor and track regulatory developments; analyze and report

Presentation Development – 20% of time

• Support the Senior Manager’s development of presentations for executive consumption
• Summarize and cogently articulate complicated subjects visually

Required:

• Legislative & political understanding; regulatory knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills – ability to collect, organize, and analyze data (including using Excel)
• Presentation skills – ability to turn data into actionable information (including the use of PowerPoint)
• Strong writing skills. Ability to translate complicated topics into concise, clear memos
• Ability to draft comment letters to government
• Strong business sense – understand abstract business needs and competitive logic
• Strong analysis skills
