The Federal Affairs, Sustainability and Policy Intern will work with the Duke Energy Federal Affairs, Sustainability and Policy teams.
- The Duke Energy Federal Affairs Team ensures that the company’s interests are represented at the national level by engaging with the legislative and regulatory processes. This position will support the team in monitoring and analyzing federal activity, preparing presentations and reports, and evaluating energy policy relevant to Duke.
- The Sustainability team assists the company in reviewing and advising on the internal controls for the reporting of sustainability matters and leads company efforts to voluntarily disclose information on climate & resiliency, social impact and governance & integrity. In addition, they assist with evolving forward and focusing on sustainability issues that are most relevant to our business and stakeholders, and where we have the best opportunity to make the biggest impact.
- The Policy team’s mission is to drive the company’s public policy agenda and shape a constructive policy landscape that moves our business forward -- balancing reliability, affordability, and increasingly clean energy – through external and internal engagement and thought leadership.
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's in Economics Government
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Cumulative GPA of 3.75 or higher
- Hybrid work environment
- 40-hour work week
