Role: Policy and Planning (733015)

Location: 1 John Fitch Plaza, Trenton, NJ 08611.

6+ Months Contract

Rate: $45.05 /hr. on w2 without benefits

Work hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00AM to 5PM (must be flexible)

Lunch period (Unpaid):1 Hour, 12-1

Dress Code: Business Casual

Office or Remote: Office/Remote (can discuss)

Parking: Adjacent parking lot

Job Description:

1. Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s): Laptop

2. Computer software to be used: Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc; Adobe

3. Interview Mode: MS Teams

4. Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience: Ex Experience with data analysis and data presentation a plus; Strong project management, analytical, problem solving, strategic, and organizational skills; Experience with policy writing and drafting; Proficiency in reading and distilling federal and state-level legislative policy for public audiences; Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially on virtual interfaces; Ability to coordinate and be accountable for multiple tasks simultaneously and independently; Ability to work in fast-paced environment; Strong attention to detail; Enjoys collaborating with teams; Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; Maturity, professionalism and poise; Open to feedback and professional development; Capable of “managing up” to ensure deadlines are met; Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).; Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree; Experience: Additional education and/or work experience in the areas of Public Policy, Education, Workforce Development, and/or Other Related Fields

7. Job Duties 1. Track and support use of existing NJDOL, USDOL, and RESEA data reports.

2. Conduct analyses of data pulled from NJ’s system of record for WIOA.

3. Collaborate with data and research teams within NJDOL and other evaluation and data partners

4. Support the integration of data into RESEA reports and presentations.

5. Assist with training events and meetings, including technology and content creation.

6. Identify opportunities to develop trainings that support the intersection of data and practice

7. Assist in the creation and development of dashboards, utilizing Power BI, Tableau, Excel Pivot Tables, and/or other similar tools.

8. Develop additional technical assistance resources, as needed.

9. Supervise the work of the Program Support Specialist

10. Job responsibilities in Brief Policy, planning, and program support

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.05 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Policy planning: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Program management: 5 years (Preferred)
