Job Description

Global Strategy Group (GSG), a research and public affairs firm, seeks a Manager specializing in corporate, public affairs, and message development research to join our growing Research practice. GSG works with companies, causes, and candidates to develop and execute memorable and effective public affairs campaigns - this individual will play a direct and major role in conducting the research and developing the strategy to bring these campaigns to life.


Ideal candidates must have extensive experience conducting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative research for a wide variety of corporate clients. Specifically, candidates should have experience in following types of research:

  • Corporate Reputation Benchmarking and Tracking
  • Creative Testing
  • Message Development
  • Thought Leadership
  • Public Affairs
  • Brand Positioning


Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex qualitative and quantitative research projects from beginning to end, driving each project forward with minimal supervision
  • Lead new business proposals and pitch process, helping produce, edit, and deliver business proposals and presentations
  • Establish and cultivate strong client relationships to successfully manage day-to-day needs and expectations
  • Take an active role in project fielding, e.e., review partials, provide edits, discuss weighting targets with data team, actively troubleshoot project fielding issues
  • Train and oversee junior staff on the execution of projects


Qualifications:

In addition to experience with the above types of research, candidates should have:

  • Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform communications
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, as well as a keen eye for detail, with the ability to take a project and run with it from conception to completion
  • Exceptional writing skills and a high level of comfort developing messaging
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • A desire to push the envelope and bring new, innovative research methods to the table
  • Interest in new business development, including writing creative proposals, developing pitch decks, and working towards a larger new business strategy
  • Strong analytical skills - going beyond descriptive findings to tell a story that results in actionable recommendations
  • An interest in consulting for and building relationships with clients
  • Team player with the ability to mentor and train entry-level employees
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6-8 years of experience in corporate, public affairs, and messaging research
