POLICY ANALYST

EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

Summary

This position is in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), OMB's Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, the oversight authority for Executive Branch regulatory actions, information collections, and Federal statistical and privacy policy. Pursuant to Executive Order 12866, the Paperwork Reduction Act, and related authorities, OIRA reviews agencies' regulatory actions and information collections, including economic, scientific, statistical, and legal aspects of these actions.


Duties

As a POLICY ANALYST, GS, 0301, 14, your typical work assignments may include the following:


The incumbent uses relevant analytic methods and plans, conducts and completes (independently and with other staff), special analyses and studies needed to support financial management, budget, legislative, and regulatory policymaking for major federal programs and issues.

The incumbent also analyzes program plans and operations and policy questions and develops measures of the costs and effects of alternative policy choices. Develops and recommends options for action in relevant areas.

The incumbent performs high level policy analysis work on a myriad of projects concerning the management of Federal Information Resources, reduction of the paperwork burden, and regulatory relief efforts.

The incumbent assists with the implementation of programs as set forth in the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980.

The incumbent provides expert assistance and advisory services to the Administrator, OIRA, and manages OlRA.

The incumbent conducts outreach, provides technical assistance, and engages with key stakeholders and partner organizations within 0MB, Federal agencies, and external partners including state, local, tribal governments, nonprofits, universities, auditors, and congress.
